Demat Account (BSDA)
Basic Services Demat Account (BSDA), a simplified and cost-effective Demat account offering for retail investors. The BSDA facility is designed to encourage small investors to participate in the securities market while keeping costs low.
As per the SEBI circular, starting 1st September 2024, a demat account is automatically considered BSDA if the following conditions are met:
The AMC for BSDA is charged based on the value of the holdings. The table below compares the maximum value of holdings under the old and new BSDA guidelines:
